EnFact Security Assistance for Debit and Credit Cards
Every Wauna CU card includes EnFact, a free, automated fraud-monitoring system that watches for unusual or suspicious activity 24/7. It’s like having a personal security officer assigned to your debit or credit card.
How does EnFact Work?
Monitoring: EnFact continuously reviews transactions to identify anything that looks out of the ordinary.
Verification: If a transaction seems suspicious, EnFact contacts you right away to confirm whether or not it’s valid.
Resolution: If the charge turns out to be fraudulent, an EnFact agent will open a dispute, help you cancel the compromised card, and issue a replacement quickly and securely.
Thanks to the EnFact monitoring, your card activity is protected every moment of the day.
VISA 3-D Secure for Online Purchases
Most of us are shopping online these days, but doing so means you need added layers of account security. Wauna Credit Union adds this extra layer of protection for shopping online with VISA 3-D Secure. This advanced authentication tool helps ensure it’s really you making the purchase and not someone else using your information.
All Wauna CU members are automatically enrolled, and the protection works behind the scenes every time you pay with your VISA® debit or credit card. This means safer online shopping experiences (so you can concentrate on filling up your cart).
How does VISA 3-D Secure work?
It all takes place behind the scenes, but each transaction receives a higher level of protection.
- You enter your VISA account details
- The online merchant sends the information to VISA for authentication.
- Through VISA, Wauna Credit Union determines the transaction risk and may prompt you to verify your identity with a one-time password provided to the credit union (this happens in less than 1% of transactions).
- WCU sends the authentication result to the merchant.
- The merchant submits the transaction for authorization.
- You go on about your day, confident in your account security.
