Mortgage FAQs

WCU offers a range of mortgage options, including fixed-rate and adjustable-rate conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and jumbo loans. Whether you’re buying your first home, upgrading, or refinancing, we’ll help you find the best option for your goals.

Closing typically takes around 30 to 45 days, but this timeline can depend on many factors. The type of loan you’re applying for, appraisal, and documentation submission all impact how long it can take.

You can use one of WCU’s online mortgage calculators for a general idea, but your best option is reaching out to our lending team. We’ll assess your income, debts, and credit history to estimate how much you can borrow and then provide you with a pre-approval.

Yes. Many current homeowners choose to refinance so they can get a lower interest rate, tap into equity, or reduce their monthly payments. We can work with you to find the refinancing option that makes the most sense.

Typically we request recent pay stubs, tax returns, W-2s, bank statements, and details on your debts and assets, but this can vary depending on the loan type. We’ll go through the checklist with you so you’ll know exactly what’s needed.
